About

I’m glad you’re intrigued enough to stop by to learn more about me!  I’m Lu (short for Lulu) and I’m a 20-something (um, I don’t know when that happened) reader who wants to talk about her books with other people who think sleeping is overrated when compared to how many books you could read if sleeping was optional.

I have a BA in Spanish, mostly just because I like reading books in Spanish.  I’m pretty sure that’s the only reason why.  I used to think I wanted to be a Spanish teacher, but now I’m not so sure.  So I’m going to get my masters in Spanish Language and Literature (it’s official!) starting in August.  Sometimes I review books that are written in Spanish.  I hope you think that’s okay.

I have an amazing boyfriend, whom we will call Z.
I have 3 sisters:  K the older (14), K the younger (11) and C (9).
I have a ridiculous blended family.
Example: One Christmas, I spent dinner at my step-mother’s, ex-husband’s, great aunt’s house.
It’s kind of like a game.
I live with 3 girls (Werehousecat, Weremonkey(PSB) and the yet to be were-i-fied C) and 2 cats (Oskar and Black Dog) in a tiny house with lots of character.

During the day I work at a Rape Crisis Hotline.  I translate, sometimes, but mostly I file paperwork and do the bills.

I pretty much have had my nose stuck in a book for the past 15 years.   I’m trying to read the 1001 Books to Read Before you Die because… why not?  I also join more reading challenges than is healthy and have only finished one – the one I created.  Fail.  I also like to write and I am the editor-in-chief of a literary magazine.  It is my dream to become a published author.  I also sometimes like music.

The title of my blog is because I think rumination is a pretty cool word and I don’t believe in exclusive blogs that only talk about books, so my thoughts here are just “regular”.  And I’m a sucker for alliteration.  Thus, Regular Rumination was born.

I’m not going to lie, the etymology of ruminate gave me a minor mid-blog life crisis.  But I got over it.

This is a very recent picture of me.

Oh my god I had the same bathing suit. One of my favorites! Love your blog (as evidenced by my slew of comments scattered throughout) and I’m definitely going to keep reading!
